Windows Thumbdrive

Hehehe; remember that idea from way back about how ko0l it would be to be able to being your home computer to someone's house in your pocket? Well; it looks like that idea has finally come into existence. There is a thumbdrive now on the market that comes preloaded with windows XP and can be taken with you where ever you go using whatever computer you come across to display your desktop. It's a great idea if you ask me.

When Flash Drives have over a 20 Gigabyte capacity what do you think will happen to the Hard Drive market?

Well Frio; what I've thought of and I think will be the case is that Flash drives will take over the whole Hard Disk idea. They have a way faster response time; they have no moving parts; use up barely any electricity and in time will be able to have higher capacities. If someone made a flashdrive Hard drive right now. Containing the same size as a normal Hard Drive they could have over a TB of space. And that's just now. Imagine once 16 GB comes out. that means 2TB. Then when 32GB comes out 4TB.

No; on the contrary; I think that Flash Drives will take the Hard Drives design for the time being; At least until computers are required to be smaller and lighter. And in that case then it would revert back to being as many sticks of flash memory is needed to meet the required amount of memory, size, weight standard.
