Asus & Gigabyte Unite

It appears as though AMD and ATI have started a trend. Asustek and Gigabyte motherboard manufacturers have decided to merge under the "Gigabyte" name. The brandnames are expected to transition at the beginning of next year, 2007.

Will any other companies decide to merge in the not-to-distant future?

Lol, I'd like to see PcChips, and mac unite! LOL!!!!
Anywayz, back on the subject, I think that Arb has a good point, but I don't think that the truly good quality companiez are gonna let tehmselvez get bought out by a total noob company. I do see good and bad things coming out of this. Bad: Fewer companies to choose from = higher prices for everyone, Good: more high quality parts manufactured in less time.

Well I can assure you that only the best companies will be joining up. Asus and Gigabyte are the best when it comes to the motherboard side of things. They'll prolly end up driving the other companies to the ground with their wide availability and low prices. Gigabyte will not raise prices like that; they love their customers too much; especially when they cater to the whole world; not just us.

Hehehe, I would like...no LOVE to see pcchips *shudders* go to the grave once and for all :P I am still having problemz with my PcChips board. I do think that Asus and Gigabyte should have gotten 2gether sooner, and I would like to see Nvidia join up with a good company, like Gigabyte.
