Turion X2 64

AMD's newest development, the Turion processor; now that new technology can be milked for all it's worth by doubling up cores on a single chip. This development should bode well for AMD in the mobile computing area. Intel has always been able to stay one step ahead of AMD in this area, but not this time. Turion allows AMD's best technologies to converge into a sinle processor. A small sample of these technologies are 64-bit compatibility, low power consumption, dual-processors, L1 cache in capacities of up to 512 KB, and hyper-transport technology.

Once AMD unleashes Turions into the UMPC market how will Intel respond?

To tell you the truth I think Intel will leave the UMPC market altogether and let AMD pwn in that. Intel has had the mobile seat for a long time; now that there's 6 or so different areas of computers one company is bound to do better than the other and become more prosperous and well-known because of it. The 6 different areas I'm refering to are Mobile (phones), PDA's, UMPC's, Tablet PC's, Laptops, & Desktops.

And you believe this kind of exposure would happen by word of mouth? Or do you think AMD's superiority will be too obvious not to ignore?

Clever timing :P 12:34 I love it. Without meaning to, I think Chemistry class has wisened you up.

I still hold out hopes that the unholy alliance between intel and Macintosh will destroy both companies....one could hope...

Well it's not going to be their own undoing. I'm pretty sure Intel and Mac are both gaining from their, as you call it, alliance. I've looked into the Conroe technology too, but I think the Turion X2 is still to good to ignore, if not superior to the Conroe.
