No More Lag?

It looks like a new company known as, Bigfoot, will now be coming in the computer industry. If you recall the company known as, Ageia, which currently sells physics processing units for dedicated gamerz then you'll remember that they compared their product to being the next big computer upgrade. They went onto say first there was the sound accelerator card, then there was the video accelerator card, and then there was the physics accelerator card. Well now, there's a fourth facet, the network accelerator card. When this card is in use it's inherent effect is that lag will no longer be an issue in computer games.

Will this new development prove to be a desirable upgrade for PC gamerz?

Yeah, sure it's good to not have lag; but I'm really rather skeptical. I can see how it would affect online gaming, but gaming alone would lag no more or less.

Well yeah, I guess you're right. If the price tag is right around 75 bux I'd go for it. Much more than that, I'm not so sure it's worth it.

IDK honestly, wether it is like Gigabit networking, or if its something that'll be the network equivilant of SLI. Signed, Esgar

Um...no; you know how network cards have a information processor on it? Well with this piece of technology it's just a new process operating at a higher frequency to scan for information loss and correct it to keep it in check and get all you can from your internet connection.

The question is, how much higher is the frequency, and (noob question) is it gonna be able to fight its way through all the ISP protocols, and security issues?

Oh ugh; look at the price. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=33-342-001&CMP=EMC-neemail090806&ATT=N82E16833342001

Who would ever pay that much for a PCI card; honestly...This thing's gonna fail miserably now.
