2000W Power Supplies

Power Supplies for personal computer systems have been supplying more and more power as the years roll on. However, in the past five years there's been a staggering increase in power requirements for the newest systems. It stands to reason that the power supplies created by the companies that have been making them for computer systems could be easily overpriced.

Would it be easier to create your own power supply than to overspend on a new one?

Happy New Year!!!

Yeah; true, they're probably hard to make. However; maybe it's easier to create the ports yourself and salvage the power supply from somthing else. Like a microwave. :P

LOL! Pupit, that'z teh most no0bish statement I've ever seen u write!

A microwave needs no power supply, it runs on 120V.

As to the build/buy, you would need a trade school in electricity/electronics to make a PSU.
I would buy

Hmmm, I wonder why they measure them all in Watts then. Oh well; I used the term "like" because I didn't know what did and didn't have one integrated. What common electronics DO include a power supply then?

umm, anything rated to run at under or over 120 volts, but it's more a transformer than PSU anyways.

I think the most common, non-puter related object with a power supply would have to be telephone (cordless)

Actrually, all a PSU is, is a voltage transformer rated to deliver a certain, continuous wattage at a specific voltage.

Hm, rly? That sounds...lol; rather simple. Almost makes me never want to buy a power supply again. Once I make one in DigiPen I'll make it a 10,000 Watt :D And ofcourse; yes; you all get one.
