AMD & Intel

ATI has made chipsets for Intel motherboards for years now. A few months ago AMD bought out ATI. When that happened, Intel began to question AMD. They wanted to know if AMD's ATI portion would continue to create chipsets for them. Despite the constant AMD & Intel competition, AMD has decided it benefits both companies if they continue to do what ATI has been doing. Perhaps this agreement will lead to a healthier competitive tie between Intel & AMD.

Should AMD keep supplying Intel with chipsets for their motherboards?

AMD should give intel the finger and keep all their stuff for themselves. Let the intel no0bz figure out their own chipsets.

Hehe, yeah I'm thinking Intel must be paying them a ton to keep the chipsets into production. I wouldn't be surprised if Intel begged them to keep business with them :P

Hm; well I wouldn't say Death to Intel. They havn't quite outlived their usefulness. Unlike AMD they have already began to develop past the x86 architecture. As of right now I'd rather have an Intel rig in a decade than an AMD one. Ten years is a long time however, so we'll see how this all turns out :)

I think that AMD should start to, metaphorically speaking, wean Intel from the chipsets, until Intel must find someone else to do their dirty work.

Yeah that might actually be a good idea. That way it doesn't keep the top competitors reliant on each other. Doesn't seem to be all that great for competition. :P
