DDR4 Memory

With the development of DDR4 it seems apparent that massive amounts of RAM will become less and less necessary as you upgrade your system. All we may very well need to upgrade to 2 Gigabytes of system memory and leave it at that size, merely upgrading to the new speed of memory as often as necessary.

Will this new speed of memory affect the sales of the upcoming DDR2 run systems?

I believe that the popularity of DDR2 will continue to rise for system RAM and that DDR4 will be used for Video Cards until two years or so. The dominate speeds of system RAM for this year is obviously still DDR. So 2006 will be DDR2 and 2007 will be DDR3. So may not see DDR4 RAM in our computer systems until around the year 2008 in my opinion.

well, if they find a way to manufacture DDR4 for cheap, I think that we may see the rise and fall of DDR3 in the next year or so.

Like the Radeon X1950XTX that came out in August, 06. The first video card to make use of DDR4 memory.

was that the first DDR4 card produced by the freestanding ATI, or the ATI that is now backed by AMD?
